AUJS Q&A With Nova Peris

May 26 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Nova Peris

Advocating in the face of opposition, staying motivated, and avoiding burnout.

We’re thrilled to announce an inspiring event featuring Nova Peris OAM OLY, made possible through generous sponsorship.
Nova, a descendant of the Gija, Yawuru & Gagudju people, is a true trailblazer. Having competed in two different Olympic sports (Hockey and Sprinting) and represented the Northern Territory in the Australian Senate, she brings a wealth of experience and insight.
Nova has also served as the International Indigenous Human Rights Ambassador and National Ambassador for Reconciliation Australia. Her advocacy work spans crucial issues such as domestic violence, youth depression, and youth suicide.
As an inaugural Board Member and Patron for Beyond Blue, she has been instrumental in raising awareness and support.
In this event, Nova will share her expertise on advocating in the face of opposition, staying motivated, and avoiding burnout. Nova has been an outspoken advocate for the Jewish community and a steadfast supporter of Israel.
We invite all students to submit questions on topics such as advocacy, cultural pride, and commitments for our engaging Q&A session with Nova. The discussion will be moderated by Josh Feldman, a distinguished Melbourne writer focusing primarily on Israeli and Jewish issues. Josh’s work has been featured in reputable publications including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Australian, The Age, and various international outlets.
Join us for a late afternoon of enlightenment, inspiration, and meaningful dialogue.
